About YBA

Yakutat Bay Adventures is a Limited Liability Partnership formed by two of Alaska’s industry leaders, Capt. Mallory Purdy & Capt. Travis Wendt. YBA was formed in 2023 after Travis & Mallory were given the opportunity to purchase the C/V Sea Hunter from Yakutat Charters. This duo first met in 2017 while both guiding for another Alaskan lodge, Chignik Bay Adventures. After many summers of operating charter boats together on the Alaskan Peninsula, Travis & Mallory formed a friendship, casting ideas and techniques off of one another to strengthen their fishing skills. Together they have become two of Alaska’s fishiest captains.

It is their goal to provide the best fishing & tour service in Yakutat. With the purchase of the C/V Sea Hunter, they have the capability to provide a safe, reliable service to all clients. Capt. Mallory makes Yakutat his home and will be the “boots-on-the-ground” partner who will lead the training of our captains and will be responsible for handling winterization, spring launching of the vessel, and any mechanical issues that arise. Capt. Travis will manage the day-to-day operations of the business and will be the knowledgebase who answers the phone and replies to emails when you contact us. Together they plan to make Yakutat Bay Adventures a full service, world-class fishing & tour company.
